Party Season Starts Early...?

August is usually a quiet month at the clinic - regulars will know that I am often away the last week of August - no chance of that this year - we are MAD BUSY - I'm pleased to say!

So just so you all know the pressure on appoinmtnets in november and early December is likely to be greater than ever - so party guys and gals who want to look fab for Christmas, please book in advance to avoid dissappointment

A young man walked in to the clinic to buy some face wash. I saw him but did not know him and I was walking back in to my room when he said,

'Excuse me Dr B, last time I was here you said I should pop back to have some 'after' photos taken - is now a good time?'

I looked at his immaculate complexion and confident good looks for several seconds before I recognised him as the painfully shy, hunched up, acne ridden boy that had come to my clinic with his mum some 6 months earlier. And here he was making eye contact and converstion with me!

I took his photos and enjoyed a few minutes of him talking about his new girlfriend and plans for University. His whole body language and demenor had changed. Improving his skin had changed his life (as his mum confirmed to me a few mins later when she came in to the clinic wondering why it was taking him so long to buy a bottle of face wash)!

No one should have to live with the misery of acne - anyone can have an Nlite programme to clear their acne in a matter of weeks. Great to see the youngsters enjoying the benefits of treatment at the clinic too!

What a great end to an excellent week at the Clinic!

About 6 months ago a new lady, lets call her Mrs A, came to see me. She told me candidly that her daughter was getting married in July and that her ex-husband would be at the wedding with his new, younger partner. Whilst she was long over him, had a new partner of her own, she still wanted to look ‘fabulous at fifty’ in the face of her former 30-something rival.

‘I have £1000 to spend and six months to go,’ said Mrs A. ‘Make me look the best I can. I want every penny to count. I want everyone, especially him, to think I look better now than when I was with him. I want her to feel that I am happier than she is’

For me this was a cosmetic doctor’s dream come true – an opportunity to spend some serious time and money and a goal to achieve!

Together Mrs A and I planned:

fillers to her nose to mouth lines and below the corners of the mouth to lift them

(3 syringes £550)

deep filler to her cheeks to restore the curve to her face

(£350 discounted to £250)

botox chemical brow lift

(£250)

We went over budget by £50 but the cost was spread over 3 treatments so Mrs A was quite happy. Two days before the wedding, we gave her a free Omnilux red light facial with a mask (worth £99), just to make her skin radiant for the big day.

So today Mrs A came in to see us with some wedding photographs.

‘It was wonderful,’ she beamed. ‘I got so many compliments – words like ‘fantastic, gorgeous, stunning. I felt like a million dollars, never mind a thousand pounds!

‘My new partner was with me and he was looking pretty good himself, so people who had not seen me for a while kept saying how fresh and happy I looked and how great we looked together. No one suspected I had had anything done.

‘The best part of it was that my ex-husband, who is definitely looking a bit flabbier than he used to be, got a bit drunk and made a bit of a fool of himself. His girlfriend was clearly embarrassed and I can’t believe I actually felt a bit sorry for her!’

The photos said it all – Mrs A looking not a day over 40. We were all so thrilled for her and then she pulled a big box of Thornton’s Chocolates for us as a thank you!

What can I say…happy patient, wedding chat and chocolate! What more could a girl want!

Hot Day at the Clinic

Thanks to everyone that came to their appointments today in the sub tropical heat of Church Gate Mews. Unexpected hot weather often results in a number of last minute cancellations, but we were pretty much full today and everyone came!
